He earned his BSc in Civil Engineering and MSc in Hydraulics from Eastern Mediterranean University, followed by a PhD in Coastal Engineering from the University of Liverpool. During his doctoral studies, he contributed as an engineer and modeller to a DEFRA-funded research project at HR Wallingford, one of the UK’s leading hydraulic research institutions.
His professional journey continued in the UK, where he served as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Consultant at WSP Development and Transportation Plc, gaining expertise in complex infrastructure projects.
In 2010, he transitioned to academia, joining Cyprus International University before moving to the European University of Lefke in 2014. Over eight years, he held the role of Chairperson of the Civil Engineering Department, shaping the future of aspiring engineers and fostering innovative research.
Alongside his academic contributions, he remains active in the industry, offering consultancy services to the Turkish Embassy on infrastructure investment projects in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
With a career rooted in technical excellence and leadership, Ibrahim Bay continues to influence the fields of civil and coastal engineering through his research, teaching, and professional advisory roles.
The panel for the Propertync Awards consists of a diverse group of judges, including 35% from TRNC, 35% from Turkey, and 30% from international backgrounds across various fields of expertise. These judges are assigned to review entries across all award categories, with each judge evaluating submissions that align with their specific area of knowledge.
