Born in 1966 in Limassol, Tunç Adanır completed his high school education at Girne Anafartalar High School. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Faculty of Architecture in 1988 and earned a Master’s degree in Architecture from the same university in 1990.

Since 1992, he has operated independently in Northern Cyprus, managing his own practice, Adanır Architecture–Engineering Office, which has been providing design, supervision, and consultancy services for over 32 years.

He has actively contributed to the architectural community through his roles within the Union of Chambers of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects (KTMMOB):

  • 2005–2012: Treasurer of the Executive Board of the Chamber of Architects.
  • 2012–2016: Secretary of the Executive Board for two terms.
  • 2018–2022: Secretary General during the 53rd and 54th terms.
  • 2022–2024: President of KTMMOB during its 55th term.

Notable Contributions and Projects

  • 2005: Directed the Karpaz Region Agro-Tourism Sample Architectural Project Competition in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and KTMMOB Chamber of Architects.
  • 2008: Served as Jury Chair for the ELSEN Headquarters National Architectural Design Competition.
  • 2019: Chaired the jury for the Gazi Baf Martyrs Memorial Ceremony and Exhibition Area National Architectural Competition, organized by the European University of Lefke and KTMMOB Chamber of Architects.
  • 2024: Coordinated the Angels’ Monument National Architectural, Landscape, and Plastic Arts Competition, a collaboration between the Famagusta Municipality, KTMMOB, and the Association to Honor the Champion Angels.

The panel for the Propertync Awards consists of a diverse group of judges, including 35% from TRNC, 35% from Turkey, and 30% from international backgrounds across various fields of expertise. These judges are assigned to review entries across all award categories, with each judge evaluating submissions that align with their specific area of knowledge.
