Hakan Gümüş, born in 1980 in Çankırı, graduated from Ankara Gazi Anatolian High School in 1998 and got a degree in City and Regional Planning from the Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2004, qualifying as a City Planner.

During his time at METU, he actively participated in AEGEE (European Student Forum), serving as President of the Ankara Branch (2000–2001) and as Executive Board Member in Brussels (2001–2002).

After graduation, he worked as Project Coordinator for the European Union project for Turkish Youth Council (2004–2005) and held roles including Real Estate Development Specialist at CarrefourSA, and Real Estate Development Manager at Best Buy. From 2009 to 2011, he joined Jones Lang LaSalle, managing shopping mall development, leasing projects in Erbil, Beirut, Damascus, and Abu Dhabi.

From 2011 to 2014, Hakan served as a Board Member and General Manager at EA Construction , overseeing key developments such as Kartal Kule (office) and Beykonakevleri (luxury villas). Afterwards he developed an Urban regeneration project in Kagithane, namely Atiye Residence. After establishing Bosphorus Invest in 2016 and taking part in several proptech companies, he continued real estate development activities for Nef global in markets such as Dubai, London, Miami and Mannheim as a partner. Hakan published a book in 2024 named ‘New Generation Real Estate’ after 66 series of a sectoral Tv program in NTV. He is the board member of Galatasaray real estate firm and board member of Quvars Invest dealing with vast land investments.

A member of Galatasaray, GISP (think tank in real estate), the METU Alumni Association and the Chamber of Urban Planners, Hakan is fluent in English and French.

The panel for the Propertync Awards consists of a diverse group of judges, including 35% from TRNC, 35% from Turkey, and 30% from international backgrounds across various fields of expertise. These judges are assigned to review entries across all award categories, with each judge evaluating submissions that align with their specific area of knowledge.
