Özlem Olgaç Türker completed her B.Arch at Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture, Istanbul, Turkey. She earned her M.Int.Arch degree from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Ankara, Turkey, and her Ph.D. degree in Architecture from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture, Famagusta, North Cyprus. Her research interests include conservation and adaptive reuse of architectural heritage, museum and exhibition design, green interior design, flexible residential architecture.
Prof. Dr. Olgaç Türker currently serves as a full-time instructor in EMU Department of Interior Architecture. As a conservation expert, she has provided local supervision for UNDP-PFF-supported conservation and appraisal projects in North Cyprus, including the restoration of Agios Panteleimonas Monastery and various sections of the Famagusta City Walls (Othello Tower, Arsenal, Ravelin Bastion, and Martinengo Bastion). She is a member of MAKEMUD where she contributes to the foundation of a city-museum and also the adaptation of a bastion as the initial exhibition space of a future city-museum. She also has administrative experience as the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Architecture. She was one of the founding members of EMU’s Cultural Heritage Research Center (DAKMAR). She was the accreditation coordinator for international accreditation preparations which led her Department to be one of the CIDA-Accredited departments out of USA and Canada. She also served in a visit team for TAPLAK- IMEPAK accreditation in Turkey.
The panel for the Propertync Awards consists of a diverse group of judges, including 35% from TRNC, 35% from Turkey, and 30% from international backgrounds across various fields of expertise. These judges are assigned to review entries across all award categories, with each judge evaluating submissions that align with their specific area of knowledge.
