Saadet Aytıs, born in 1963, is an accomplished academic and professional in the field of architecture. She graduated from the Architecture Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1986. After completing the Building Science Program in the same university's Institute of Science, she earned a Doctorate degree with a dissertation on "Building Criteria of High-Rise Buildings and Analysis of These Criteria through Four Examples from Istanbul."
Aytıs began her academic career in 1987 as a Research Assistant in the Architecture Department, later advancing to Assistant Professor in the Interior Architecture Department. Over her career, she supervised 34 PhD and 12 Master's dissertations and served as a jury member for 164 dissertations across various universities. Aytıs has contributed extensively to national and international research, publishing numerous articles, manifestos, and editorials.
She has also held leadership roles in numerous projects, including coordinating national and international workshops in the Interior Architecture Department. In design competitions, she has served as chairman of regulatory authorities, member of scientific committees in symposia, and has been involved in exhibition coordination, symposium management, jury memberships, and consultancy in various capacities.
Her administrative duties at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University include Head of the Department of Interior Architecture between 2010-2013 and deputy department head between 1998-2010. Additionally, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Science and Technology between 2001 and 2013; She served as a member of the Faculty Executive Board and the Faculty Board between 2003-2022, and as MSGSU Desibled Student Unit coordinator between 2021-2024. Currently working as a faculty member at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture, Assoc. Dr. Saadet AYTIS teaches as a guest lecturer at FMV Işık University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design.
The panel for the Propertync Awards consists of a diverse group of judges, including 35% from TRNC, 35% from Turkey, and 30% from international backgrounds across various fields of expertise. These judges are assigned to review entries across all award categories, with each judge evaluating submissions that align with their specific area of knowledge.
